Republicans Face Challenges in Election Law Debate

The Supreme Court on Tuesday struck down President Trump’s birthright citizenship restrictions, ruling that his banner immigration policy is unconstitutional. The majority ruling, written by Chief Justice John Roberts, was joined by three liberal justices and conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

President Trump has repeatedly claimed that the 2020 election was stolen, despite evidence to the contrary, and has now warned that Republicans will never win another election unless the SAVE Act is passed, which would require photo ID and proof of citizenship to vote, and end mail-in voting.
